Job Requirements

  • high school graduate or equivalent
  • minimum of two years experience in the food service industry
  • minimum of four years experience in supervisory food service role
  • ability to manage budgets and inventories
  • strong leadership and personnel management skills
  • knowledge of kitchen sanitation and food safety practices
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to monitor resident preferences and feedback
  • ability to coordinate menu planning and special events

Job Qualifications

  • high school graduate or equivalent
  • minimum of two years experience in the food service industry
  • minimum of four years experience in a supervisory capacity in food services or related field
  • degree in food or nutrition services preferred
  • Serve Safe certification preferred

Job Duties

  • establish and maintain standards of quality, conduct, customer service, and productivity within Dining Services
  • innovate, plan, promote, and supervise a food service program meeting quality, productivity, and customer service standards
  • maintain staffing levels and inventory of food and supplies within budget guidelines
  • recruit, hire, train, discipline, and supervise dining services staff
  • coordinate menu planning with the Administrator
  • ensure timely preparation and presentation of food items with high quality and proper portion control
  • monitor resident preferences and address shifts using surveys, interviews, and feedback mechanisms
  • establish and maintain kitchen and dining room sanitation procedures
  • coordinate with activity director for special events
  • attend staff and resident meetings to report and advise on food service matters
  • purchase kitchen supplies and equipment
  • monitor department budget and resource utilization
  • comply with all food service policies and procedures
