Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a culinary leadership role
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • ability to manage budgets and labor costs
  • strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • previous executive chef, dining services director, food service director, or culinary manager experience
  • knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation
  • experience managing food and labor budgets
  • strong leadership and organizational skills
  • senior living, healthcare, or hospitality dining experience
  • servsafe certification
  • experience with therapeutic or modified diets

Job Duties

  • plan, prepare, and oversee high-quality meal service
  • ensure resident satisfaction with food quality and presentation
  • maintain kitchen sanitation and food safety standards
  • manage special diets and menu modifications as needed
  • oversee inventory, ordering, and food cost controls
  • hire, train, and supervise dining staff
  • schedule and manage departmental labor hours
  • promote a positive, service-focused dining culture
  • provide coaching and performance feedback
  • manage food and supply budgets
  • control waste, portioning, and purchasing
  • ensure efficient kitchen operations
  • maintain compliance with health department regulations
  • interact regularly with residents and families
  • support community events and special dining functions
  • promote the importance of dining to overall quality of life
