Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in food service management or culinary field preferred
- Minimum five years supervisory experience in hospitality or fine dining
- Current ServSafe certification
- Proven experience in volume cooking or hospitality management
- Ability to manage budgets effectively
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations
- Basic computer proficiency
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
Job Qualifications

- Four to five years supervisory experience in hospitality or fine dining industries
- Minimum five years volume cooking experience or equivalent hospitality experience
- Current ServSafe certification
- Proven ability to utilize production sheets, standardized recipes, temperature logs, and sanitation forms
- Basic knowledge of nutrition and modified diets
- Proven ability to manage food and labor budgets and achieve targets
- Proficient in basic computer skills with ability to learn new applications
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours
Job Duties
- Deliver consistent high-quality food and hospitality service by following recipes, menus, and programs
- Post and display weekly and daily menus in accordance with standards
- Complete and utilize production sheets to control food quality and portions
- Ensure adherence to modified diets, correct portioning of foods, and proper serving methods
- Prepare and serve meals on time and at correct temperatures
- Actively train on and participate in front-of-the-house operations to ensure positive customer experience
- Ensure all food in common areas is fresh, covered, labeled, and dated
- Support all special events with emphasis on marketing events
- Serve one meal per week in remembrance and coordinate with relevant staff
- Partner with wellness team and consultant dietitian for resident nutritional needs
- Participate in monthly Resident Council Meetings and food committee meetings
- Engage with residents during meal periods for feedback on menu
- Coordinate staffing in dining room with assisted living care before each meal
- Adhere to established product order guides and vendor programs
- Ensure compliance with HACCP and local health department regulations
- Maintain adequate inventory including emergency supplies
- Promote occupational health and safety requirements and risk management policies
- Enforce safety procedures such as PPE, fire extinguishers, MSDS, and Lockout Tagout
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and food safety standards
- Practice safe food handling to prevent contamination or outbreaks
- Maintain clean, organized, and clutter-free kitchen environment
- Keep accurate food production and sanitation records
- Partner with maintenance for equipment repairs and scheduled maintenance
- Manage department budget including food, labor, and other expenses
- Update financial tools and maintain budget allowances
- Review and act on monthly financial statements
- Submit monthly expenses and budget data timely
- Coordinate staffing and cross-training for maximum efficiency
- Conduct regular inventories per accounting guidelines
- Recruit, hire, train, and coach department staff
- Lead daily and monthly meetings, training, orientation, and continuing education
- Maintain compliance with state or provincial regulations
- Manage staffing and scheduling per budget and operational guidelines
- Review timekeeping and payroll for accuracy
- Conduct performance appraisals with documented feedback
- Hold team accountable with proper documentation
- Attend required meetings such as Stand Up, Department Head, Interdisciplinary Team, and Quality Improvement
- Maintain required training compliance
- Perform other assigned duties as needed
