Job Requirements

  • Must possess a Food Service Manager Certificate or meet regulatory requirements
  • must have experience in ordering, storing, preparation, and serving food in a food service setting preferably senior care
  • must be high school graduate
  • must have management and leadership experience in dining services
  • must be ServSafe certified
  • must have strong customer service skills
  • must be willing to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • must have leadership and supervisory ability
  • must understand nutritional needs of assisted living residents
  • must be able to sit, stand, bend, and walk intermittently
  • must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly and carry heavy objects up to 20 feet
  • strong organizational skills
  • must maintain neat and clean public appearance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food Service Manager Certificate or equivalent regulatory certification
  • ServSafe certified
  • strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • effective communication skills
  • knowledge of nutritional needs of senior residents
  • management experience in dining services
  • ability to provide excellent customer service
  • organizational and multitasking skills
  • ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Duties

  • Develops and maintains knowledge of policies and procedures
  • ensures compliance with health laws and regulations
  • directs and assists in meal preparation and serving
  • hires, trains, and supervises dining staff
  • prepares monthly menus meeting dietary needs
  • ensures meals are served on schedule with appropriate intervals
  • maintains food safety and sanitation standards
  • orders food, supplies, and equipment
  • manages inventory and budget
  • controls food portions
  • conducts staff training and in-services
  • attends staff meetings
  • visits new residents to assess dietary needs
  • provides excellent customer service
  • follows confidentiality policies
  • oversees special dietary needs in Harmony Square
  • conducts monthly food committee meetings
  • assists with marketing functions
  • maintains preventative maintenance program for equipment
