Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in food service management or culinary degree or equivalent training
- Four to five years supervisory experience in hospitality or fine dining
- Minimum five years volume cooking experience
- Current ServSafe certification
- Knowledge of nutrition and modified diets
- Experience managing food and labor budgets
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
- Reliable and committed to quality service
- Must pass drug screening
- Must comply with health and safety testing requirements including tuberculosis and physical evaluation
- Mandatory vaccinations as required by law.
Job Qualifications

- Minimum five years volume cooking experience or equivalent hospitality experience if an Executive Chef is present
- Current ServSafe certification
- Proficient in use of production sheets, recipes, temperature logs, and sanitation forms
- Basic knowledge of nutrition and modified diets
- Proven ability to manage food and labor budgets and meet targets
- Proficient in basic computer skills with ability to learn new applications
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours for peak service times.
Job Duties
- Deliver consistent high-quality food and hospitality service by following recipes, menus, and programs
- Post and display weekly and daily menus in accordance with standards
- Complete and utilize production sheets to control food quality and portions
- Ensure adherence to modified diets, correct portioning, and proper serving methods
- Prepare and serve meals on time and at correct temperatures
- Actively train on and participate in front-of-house operations to ensure a positive customer experience
- Ensure all food in common areas is fresh, covered, labeled, and dated
- Support special events with emphasis on marketing
- Serve at least one meal per week in Reminiscence and coordinate with Reminiscence Coordinator
- Partner with wellness team and dietitian to deliver accurate nutritional services
- Participate in Resident Council and food committee meetings
- Visit residents during meal periods for feedback
- Coordinate dining room staffing before meals
- Adhere to product order guides and vendor programs
- Ensure compliance with HACCP and local health regulations
- Maintain adequate inventory of food and supplies including emergency supplies
- Collaborate with leadership for occupational health and safety compliance
- Enforce procedures for PPE, fire safety, MSDS, and lockout tagout
- Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of kitchen environment
- Keep accurate food production and sanitation records
- Coordinate equipment repairs and maintenance
- Manage department budget including food, labor, and expenses
- Review financial statements and act on deficiencies
- Process monthly expenses and budget data
- Coordinate staff economies and cross training
- Conduct regular inventories
- Recruit, hire, train, and coach staff
- Lead team meetings and trainings including orientation and continuing education
- Ensure compliance with regulations and training requirements
- Manage staffing and scheduling
- Review timekeeping and payroll
- Conduct performance appraisals and accountability measures
- Attend required meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned.
