Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in food service management, culinary degree, or equivalent training
- Four to five years supervisory experience in hospitality or fine dining industries
- Minimum five years volume cooking experience or equivalent hospitality experience in communities with an Executive Chef
- Current ServSafe certification
- Ability to use production sheets, standardized recipes, temperature logs, and sanitation forms
- Basic knowledge of nutrition and modified diets
- Proven ability to manage food and labor budgets
- Proficient in basic computer skills
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours
- Available for peak service delivery days and times

Job Duties
- Delivers consistent high-quality food and hospitality service by following recipes, menus, and programs
- Posts and displays weekly and daily menus in accordance with standards
- Completes and utilizes production sheets to control food quality and portions
- Ensures adherence to modified diets, correct portioning of foods, and proper serving methods
- Prepares and serves meals on time and at the correct temperatures
- Actively trains on and participates in front-of-the-house operations to ensure a positive customer experience
- Ensures all food in common areas is fresh, covered, labeled, and dated
- Supports special events with emphasis on marketing
- Serves at least one meal per week in Reminiscence and coordinates with the Reminiscence Coordinator
- Partners with wellness and dietitian teams to meet resident nutritional needs
- Participates in resident council and food committee meetings
- Engages with residents for menu feedback
- Coordinates dining room staffing
- Adheres to product order guides and vendor programs
- Ensures compliance with HACCP and health department regulations
- Maintains adequate inventory including emergency supplies
- Supports community compliance with health and safety regulations
- Enforces PPE, fire safety, MSDS, and lockout tagout procedures
- Ensures food safety and sanitation standards
- Maintains kitchen cleanliness and organization
- Completes food production and sanitation records
- Coordinates equipment maintenance
- Manages department budget including food and labor costs
- Updates financial tools and reviews statements
- Processes monthly expenses
- Optimizes staff scheduling and cross training
- Conducts inventories per guidelines
- Oversees recruiting, hiring, training, and coaching of staff
- Leads team meetings and educational training
- Ensures regulatory compliance and completes training
- Reviews payroll and conducts performance appraisals
- Holds team accountable with documentation
- Attends required meetings
- Performs other assigned duties
- Demonstrates delegation, communication, organizational, judgment, and problem-solving skills
