Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum two years experience supervising kitchen food service and dining room operations in a full-service restaurant
  • current ServSafe certification
  • ability to recruit coach and manage kitchen dining room staff
  • minimum two years volume cooking experience
  • basic knowledge of nutrition and modified diets
  • proven ability to manage food and labor budgets
  • proficient in basic computer skills
  • ability to work weekends evenings and flexible hours
  • pass drug test tuberculosis test physical evaluation and background check where required
  • covid-19 and influenza vaccination if required by law

Job Qualifications

  • minimum of two years experience supervising kitchen food service and dining room operations in a full-service restaurant
  • ability to recruit coach and manage performance of kitchen dining room staff
  • minimum two years volume cooking experience and ability to cook three to four days per week producing required volume of food
  • current ServSafe certification
  • proven ability to use tools such as production sheets standardized recipes temperature logs and sanitation forms
  • basic knowledge of nutrition and modified diets
  • proven ability to manage food and labor budgets and achieve targets
  • proficient in basic computer skills and ability to learn new applications
  • ability to work weekends evenings and flexible hours

Job Duties

  • deliver consistent high-quality food and hospitality service by following recipes menus and programs
  • post and display weekly and daily menus in accordance with standards
  • complete and utilize production sheets to control food quality and portions
  • ensure adherence to modified diets correct portioning of foods and proper serving methods
  • prepare and serve meals on time and at correct temperatures
  • train on and participate in front-of-the-house operations to ensure positive customer experience
  • ensure all food in common areas is fresh covered labeled and dated as applicable
  • support special events with emphasis on marketing
  • serve minimum one meal per week in Reminiscence and meet with coordinator to review needs
  • partner with wellness team and consultant dietitian to understand nutritional needs and deliver meals accurately
  • participate in resident council and food committee meetings
  • visit residents during meal periods for menu feedback
  • coordinate staffing with residential care coordinator before meals
  • adhere to product order guides and vendor programs
  • ensure compliance with HACCP and health regulations
  • maintain adequate inventory including emergency supplies
  • promote risk management programs and safety procedures
  • ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
  • maintain clean and organized kitchen environment
  • complete accurate food production and sanitation records
  • partner with maintenance for equipment repairs and maintenance
  • manage department budget including food labor and expenses
  • keep financial tools up-to-date and review monthly financial statements
  • submit monthly expenses and budget data timely
  • coordinate for staff economies and cross training
  • conduct regular inventories
  • recruit hire train and coach team members
  • lead and participate in team meetings and trainings
  • ensure compliance with state regulations
  • manage staffing and scheduling
  • review timekeeping and payroll reports
  • conduct performance appraisals and hold team accountable
  • attend regular meetings as required
  • stay informed on professional developments
  • maintain required training compliance
  • perform other duties as assigned
