Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum two years experience supervising kitchen, food service, and dining room operations
  • current ServSafe certification
  • experience with volume cooking
  • proficiency in food safety and sanitation protocols
  • ability to manage budgets and labor costs
  • basic computer skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • strong communication and leadership skills
  • ability to train and develop team members
  • compliance with health and safety regulations
  • ability to pass pre-employment drug test and health screenings
  • willingness to comply with vaccination mandates where applicable

Job Qualifications

  • minimum two years experience supervising kitchen, food service, and dining room operations in a full-service restaurant
  • ability to recruit, coach, and manage kitchen and dining room staff performance
  • minimum two years volume cooking experience with ability to cook three to four days per week
  • current ServSafe certification
  • proficiency in using production sheets, standardized recipes, temperature logs, and sanitation forms
  • basic knowledge of nutrition and modified diets
  • proven ability to manage food and labor budgets effectively
  • proficient computer skills with ability to learn new applications
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings

Job Duties

  • deliver high-quality food and hospitality service by following recipes and menus
  • post and display weekly and daily menus according to standards
  • complete and use production sheets to control food quality and portions
  • ensure adherence to modified diets and proper serving methods
  • prepare and serve meals on time and at correct temperatures
  • train and participate in front-of-the-house operations for positive customer experience
  • ensure food in common areas is fresh, covered, labeled, and dated
  • support special events with emphasis on marketing
  • serve meals weekly in Reminiscence and coordinate with Reminiscence Coordinator
  • partner with wellness team and dietitian to meet resident nutritional needs
  • participate in Resident Council and food committee meetings
  • visit residents during meals for feedback
  • coordinate dining room staffing with Residential Care Coordinator
  • adhere to product order guides and vendor programs
  • ensure compliance with HACCP and health regulations
  • maintain inventory including emergency supplies
  • ensure compliance with occupational health and safety and risk management policies
  • enforce safety procedures such as PPE and fire extinguishers
  • ensure food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness compliance
  • maintain accurate production, sanitation, and cleaning records
  • coordinate equipment maintenance
  • manage department budget including food, labor, and expenses
  • maintain financial tools and review statements
  • process monthly expenses
  • coordinate staffing and cross training
  • conduct inventories per guidelines
  • recruit, hire, train, and coach team members
  • lead team meetings and trainings
  • ensure regulatory compliance
  • manage staffing and scheduling
  • review timekeeping and payroll for accuracy
  • conduct performance appraisals and corrective actions
  • attend required meetings
  • stay updated on professional development
  • maintain compliance with required training
  • perform other assigned duties
