Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required
  • minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 5 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • knowledge of food service operations including sanitation standards and food preparation
  • familiarity with food service equipment such as steamers, slicers, and fryers
  • experience with Food Pro software for forecasting and service needs
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to lift and move minimum 50 pounds occasionally

Job Duties

  • Input and receive storeroom orders and put them away
  • prepare unit for opening including stocking, signage, cleanliness, and equipment readiness
  • set up Sequoia, retrieve banks, and prepare market and food as needed
  • monitor food quality and employee productivity
  • ensure all areas are staffed and delegate job assignments
  • openly communicate with staff and supervisor
  • complete product orders as required
  • train employees in job duties and health codes
  • actively develop and support a team-based focus within Student Union
  • ring up orders accurately, accept money, and return correct change
  • count bank to verify accuracy
  • enter totals on reports as required
  • participate in employee discipline and guidance
  • support labor and food cost budgets
  • oversee and assist with weekly inventory
  • control labor and food costs
  • greet and serve customers in a friendly and courteous manner
  • provide suggestions and input to supervisor
  • actively solve problems wherever possible
  • work harmoniously with coworkers
  • perform additional duties as assigned
