Job Description
The Dining Room Lead is a senior server position that plays a vital role in ensuring a high quality of food service within a residential care or dining facility. This position typically operates under a schedule of 2:00pm to 7:30pm, working 10 days every two weeks, including every other weekend. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a food service or dining room environment
- Ability to oversee staff and lead a shift
- Availability to work scheduled hours including weekends
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Good communication skills

- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties
- Oversees food service workers and maintains sanitary conditions
- Assists residents with dietary needs, takes attendance or assists with meal counting, and prepares room trays for residents
- Assist waitstaff with serving of meals
- Acts as a decision maker in the absence of a manager or supervisor
- Help fill open positions in the event the kitchen is short staffed
- Checks to ensure waitstaff and dishwasher job duties are completed at the end of their shifts, including cleaning assignments
- Set a good example for other waitstaff and dishwashers
- Maintains a positive attitude
