Job Requirements
- certification in the food handlers course or equivalent
- previous experience in the food service industry
- ability to read and write english
- willingness and ability to learn new tasks
- must be available to work varied shifts and weekends
- ability to lift heavy objects
- ability to stand and walk short distances throughout the day
- ability to tolerate heat from the kitchen
- must be free of communicable diseases

Job Duties
- prepare and serve nutritious meals in a safe sanitary manner in accordance with public health regulations and sanitation code
- be familiar with hazardous analysis critical control point (haccp) and workplace hazardous material information system (whmis)
- ensure a clean and safe working environment by practicing safe work habits and using correct hand washing techniques
- serve meals in a pleasant and respectful manner mindful of residents' special needs
- practice safe usage and routine cleaning and maintenance of all department equipment
- prepare the dining rooms daily by setting tables, pouring beverages, and clearing dishes
- properly stock inventory upon receipt following required procedures
