Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Current Food Handler's Permit
  • One year of food service experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, sit, twist, bend, squat, kneel, or crouch as required
  • Dependability and punctuality
  • Adherence to dress code and kitchen uniform requirements
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work cooperatively with diverse individuals
  • Ability to respond calmly in emergency situations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Current Food Handler's Permit
  • Training in Servsafe is beneficial
  • One year of food service experience preferred including serving/waiting tables, cleaning and kitchen sanitation protocols, and basic food/meal preparation
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions and follow safety practices
  • Cordial and congenial demeanor with residents
  • Dependable, detail oriented, organized with good follow through
  • Ability to work within standard policies and procedures with limited supervision
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks and functions
  • Ability to react calmly in emergency situations
  • Patience and compassion for senior adults
  • Consideration for resident's comfort, safety, security and belongings
  • Ability to set and establish priorities
  • Efficient time management
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area
  • Well-groomed appearance complying with organizational and state food code standards
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, preparation and serving principles
  • Ability to work well with employees, residents, families, visitors, vendors and other healthcare professionals

Job Duties

  • Assist in food preparation, hospitality duties, and meal service including serving food, waiting tables, and bussing tables
  • Perform defined work routines using various dining utensils, supplies and equipment
  • Follow all sanitation guidelines, federal and state regulations, and senior living and healthcare requirements
  • Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled and/or needed
  • Open and close kitchen and dining rooms as needed
  • Wash and store dishes
  • Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies
