Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months to one year related experience preferred
- Ability to operate mixers, stoves, microwaves, blending equipment, coffee makers, ovens (occasionally), slicers
- Proficient use of sharp cooking utensils such as knives
- Ability to understand directions
- Ability to read, write, understand and speak English
- Ability to multi-task and work with flexibility
- Willingness to undergo additional training for dementia care if applicable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with various community members
- Adherence to employee handbook policies
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Six months to one year related experience preferred
- Ability to learn basic computer applications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Ability to multi-task and work with flexibility
- Ability to work effectively with dietary staff, residents, families, and other community staff
- Willingness to adhere to all terms and conditions in the employee handbook
Job Duties
- Assists cook as needed
- Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator
- Prepares nourishments according to community procedures
- Executes the sanitation process including washing tables and chairs, sweeping and mopping floors, taking trash to dumpster, washing and putting away dishes
- Assists with meal service duties such as setting tables, serving trays, checking tray accuracy, clearing tables, pushing food carts, and communicating with residents
- Follows safety and security guidelines for residents
- Maintains effective communication with residents and their families
- Provides care and treatment with appropriate dementia care protocols
- Participates in educational and training activities
- Performs other duties as assigned
