Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year experience in food preparation preferred
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- Physical ability to lift up to 20 lbs alone and 40 lbs with assistance
- Ability to stand, sit, squat, kneel for extended periods
- Full use of vision and hearing
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to perform routine math calculations for recipes
- Maintain confidentiality
- Willingness to adhere to sanitary and safety standards
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred
- At least one year of successful food preparation experience preferred
- ServSafe Certification preferred
- Culinary degree or formal training preferred
- Compassion and desire to serve senior adults
- Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively
Job Duties
- Assist with food preparation, presentation, and taste of well-balanced dishes for all meals
- Assist with food preparation and presentation for special meals, parties, and events
- Comply with and maintain an organized workspace including food and supply storage
- Operate all kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Adhere to and ensure daily routine tasks for the kitchen are completed
- Assist with kitchen cleaning and sanitation to comply with health and safety codes
- Maintain confidentiality of residents and operations
- Ensure communication with the Lead Cook or Kitchen Manager on operational matters
