Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- ability to follow sanitation and safety standards
- good communication skills
- ability to work part-time hours
- reliable and punctual
- physical ability to stand and walk during shift
- willingness to participate in required training
- basic computer skills
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED preferred
- previous experience in food service or similar role is advantageous
- ability to communicate effectively with elderly residents and team members
- understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- basic skills in using computerized point-of-sale systems
- ability to follow standardized recipes and meal preparation methods
- good interpersonal and teamwork skills
Job Duties
- sets up dining areas prior to meal serving time and adheres to safety and sanitation standards
- greets residents as they enter and exit the dining room and serves them promptly and courteously
- portions and plates salad or dessert items between meals and participates in preparation using standardized recipes and methods
- correctly plates and serves meals and checks food temperatures before, during, and after meal service times
- communicates resident dietary needs or difficulties with meals to Dining Services Manager and Registered Dietician
- cleans and sanitizes dining rooms after service and properly stores, labels, and dates any leftover food
- maintains a professional appearance and adheres to department policies and procedures
- operates the computerized Point-of-Sale system accurately for meal charges and monitors guest counts
- delivers room trays when needed
- discards waste and recyclables
- monitors beverage temperatures and hold times to maintain safety and quality
- participates in training sessions including ServSafe and fire safety drills
- completes assigned shift work timely and thoroughly
