Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Current Food Handler’s Permit
- Preferred one year of food service experience
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to follow safety practices and written instructions
- Must be dependable and detail oriented
- Must have good organizational skills
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to work calmly in emergency situations
- Ability to interact cordially with senior residents
- Must maintain neat appearance and adhere to uniform and dress code
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform stooping, bending, climbing, standing, and walking for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Current Food Handler’s Permit
- Training in Servsafe is beneficial
- One year of food service experience preferred including serving, waiting tables, cleaning, kitchen sanitation, and basic meal prep
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to read and understand written instructions
- Cordial and congenial demeanor with seniors
- Dependable, detail oriented, and organized
- Ability to follow policies and procedures with limited supervision
- Patience and compassion towards senior adults
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, preparation, and serving principles
- Ability to adhere to dress code and uniform standards
- Ability to work well with employees, residents, families, visitors, vendors, and healthcare professionals
Job Duties
- Assist in food preparation, hospitality duties, and meal service including serving food, waiting tables, and bussing tables
- Serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals to residents, guests, and staff in the dining room or bistro
- Bus and reset tables as needed
- Prepare salad bar items for lunch and fill salad bar with ice
- Prepare and stage desserts
- Assist in setting up meetings and special events including delivery of snacks, coffee, tea
- Follow all sanitation guidelines and maintain cleanliness of prep items and dining areas
