Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of food service experience preferred
- Current food handler's permit required
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
- Must be dependable and detail oriented
- Ability to work independently and follow policies
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to stay calm in emergencies
- Must be patient and compassionate with senior residents
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and adhere to dress code
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform frequent bending, stooping, standing, and walking
- Adequate sight and hearing to perform duties
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current food handler's permit
- Training in ServSafe is beneficial
- One year of food service experience including serving, waiting tables, cleaning, kitchen sanitation protocols, and basic food and meal preparation preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to follow written instructions and safety practices
- Cordial and congenial demeanor with senior residents
- Dependable, detail oriented, organized, and able to follow through
- Ability to work within policies and procedures with limited supervision
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and functions
- Ability to remain calm in emergency situations
- Patience and compassion for senior adults
- Considerate of resident comfort, safety, security, and belongings
- Ability to set priorities and manage time efficiently
- Maintains a neat and orderly work area
- Adheres to organizational and state food code dress standards
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, preparation, and serving principles

Job Duties
- Assist in food preparation, hospitality duties, and meal service including serving food, waiting tables, and bussing tables
- Serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals to residents, guests, and staff in the dining room or bistro
- Bus and reset tables as needed
- Prepare salad bar items for lunch including filling salad bar with ice, setting up plates and bowls for salad bar and soup kettles, and staging desserts
- Assist in setting up for meetings and special events including delivery of snacks, coffee, and tea
- Follow all sanitation guidelines, federal and state regulations, and senior living and healthcare requirements
- Maintain cleanliness of prep items and perform cleaning duties as scheduled or needed
- 'Open' and 'Close' dining rooms as needed
