Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous dining service experience is preferred
- Ability to read and follow recipe instructions and diet orders
- Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks
- Patience and good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
- Must have or be willing to receive a Hepatitis A vaccine if required
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to work with chemicals and cleaning agents
- Must be free from infections or communicable diseases
Job Qualifications
- Previous dining service experience is preferred
- Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe instructions, diet orders, resident preference cards, and work assignments
- Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions
- Patience and tolerance with staff, residents, and family members
- Must have or be willing to receive a Hepatitis A vaccine if working within St Louis County
Job Duties
- Perform defined work routines using various dining service utensils, supplies, and equipment as assigned
- Assist with all aspects of dining service set-up in dining rooms and at catered events, including preparing beverages, salads, desserts, and other food items as instructed and in accordance with recipes
- Ensure all foods are served at proper temperatures and on time
- Assist with dining room set up including setting tables, stocking buffets, and serving residents
- Complete all aspects of clean-up to ensure all dining service areas are maintained according to policies and standards by bussing tables, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing dishes, removing trash, and stocking and storing items
- Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies
- Follow safety procedures and protocols, report hazardous conditions, defective equipment, and accidents to the supervisor immediately
- Maintain all necessary documentation including checking and recording food temperatures in HACCP logs and recording product usage and waste amounts
- Follow infection control procedures, including proper hand washing, food storage, disposal, and wearing protective clothing when handling waste and cleaning agents
