Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Current Food Handler's Permit
- One year of food service experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to read and follow written safety instructions
- Dependable and detail oriented
- Ability to work within standard policies and procedures
- Ability to work with limited direct supervision
- Ability to manage multiple tasks

Job Qualifications

- Training in Servsafe is beneficial
- One year of food service experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written English
- Ability to read and understand written instructions
- Strong customer service skills with patience and compassion for senior adults
- Dependable, detail oriented, organized with good follow-through
- Ability to work within standard policies and procedures with limited supervision
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and functions
- Ability to react calmly in emergency situations
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, preparation and serving principles
- Ability to work well with diverse individuals including residents, families, staff and community members
Job Duties
- Assist in food preparation, hospitality duties, and meal service, including serving food, waiting tables, and bussing tables
- Serve breakfast, lunch and dinner meals to residents, guests, and staff in the dining room or bistro
- Bus and reset tables as needed
- Prepare salad bar items for lunch
- Fill salad bar with ice and set for service, including gathering plates and bowls as necessary for salad bar and soup kettles
- Prepare and stage desserts
- Assist in light food preparation for special events
- Assist in setting up for meetings and special events, including delivery of snacks, coffee, tea, etc.
- Follow all sanitation guidelines, federal/state regulations, and Senior Living/Healthcare requirements
- Maintain cleanliness of prep items
- Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled and/or needed
- Open and close dining rooms as needed
