Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Current Food Handler's Permit
- Valid Servsafe training preferred
- One year of relevant food service experience preferred
- Effective communication skills in English
- Ability to follow safety regulations and written instructions
- Patience and compassion for senior adults
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and standing/walking for long periods
- Adequate sight and hearing
- Adherence to dress code and uniform requirements
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Ability to react calmly in emergencies
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Current Food Handler's Permit
- Training in Servsafe is beneficial
- One year of food service experience preferred including serving, waiting tables, cleaning and kitchen sanitation protocols, and basic food preparation
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to read and understand written instructions and follow safety practices
- Cordial and congenial attitude towards residents
- Dependable, detail oriented, organized with good follow through
- Ability to work within standard policy and procedures with limited supervision
- Ability to handle a variety of tasks and functions
- Ability to react calmly in emergency situations
- Patience and compassion towards senior adults
- Considerate of residents' comfort, safety, security and belongings

- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, preparation and serving principles
- Ability to work well with employees, residents, families, visitors, vendors, healthcare professionals and community members
Job Duties
- Assist in food preparation, hospitality duties, and meal service including serving food, waiting tables, and bussing tables
- Serve breakfast, lunch and dinner meals to residents, guests, and staff in the Dining Room or Bistro
- Bus and reset tables as needed
- Prepare salad bar items for lunch including filling salad bar with ice and setting for service
- Prepare and stage desserts
- Perform light food preparation for special events
- Assist in setting up for meetings and other special events including delivery of snacks, coffee, tea etc
- Follow all sanitation guidelines, federal and state regulations, and Senior Living and Healthcare requirements
- Maintain cleanliness of prep items
- Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled and needed
- Open and close dining rooms as needed
