Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- current food handler's permit
- one year of food service experience preferred
- ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing
- ability to read and follow written instructions and safety practices
- physical ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
- ability to stand, sit, twist, bend, squat, kneel or crouch as needed
- ability to maintain composure in emergency situations
- dependable and detail oriented
- able to work independently following policies
- patient and compassionate toward senior adults
- maintain a neat and orderly work environment
- comply with dress code and hygiene standards
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- good time management skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- current food handler's permit
- training in Servsafe is beneficial
- one year of food service experience including serving/waiting tables, cleaning, kitchen sanitation protocols, basic food/meal preparation preferred
- effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- ability to read and understand written instructions and follow safety practices
- cordial and congenial with residents
- dependable, detail oriented, organized, good follow through
- ability to work within standard policy and procedures
- ability to work with limited direct supervision
- ability to handle a variety of tasks and functions
- ability to react calmly in emergency situations

Job Duties
- Assist in food preparation, hospitality duties, and meal service, including serving food, waiting tables, and bussing tables
- serve breakfast, lunch and dinner meals to residents, guests, and staff in the dining room or bistro
- bus and reset tables as needed
- prepare salad bar items for lunch
- fill salad bar with ice and set for service, including gathering plates and bowls as necessary for salad bar and soup kettles
- prepare and stage desserts
- light food prep for special events
- assist in setting up meetings or other special events, including delivery of snacks, coffee, tea, etc.
- follow all sanitation guidelines, federal/state regulations, and senior living/healthcare requirements
- maintain cleanliness of prep items
- follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled and/or needed
- open and close dining rooms as needed
