Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • current food handler's permit
  • one year of food service experience preferred
  • ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing
  • ability to read and follow written instructions and safety practices
  • physical ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
  • ability to stand, sit, twist, bend, squat, kneel or crouch as needed
  • ability to maintain composure in emergency situations
  • dependable and detail oriented
  • able to work independently following policies
  • patient and compassionate toward senior adults
  • maintain a neat and orderly work environment
  • comply with dress code and hygiene standards
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • good time management skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • current food handler's permit
  • training in Servsafe is beneficial
  • one year of food service experience including serving/waiting tables, cleaning, kitchen sanitation protocols, basic food/meal preparation preferred
  • effective verbal and written communication skills in English
  • ability to read and understand written instructions and follow safety practices
  • cordial and congenial with residents
  • dependable, detail oriented, organized, good follow through
  • ability to work within standard policy and procedures
  • ability to work with limited direct supervision

Job Duties

  • Assist in food preparation, hospitality duties, and meal service, including serving food, waiting tables, and bussing tables
  • serve breakfast, lunch and dinner meals to residents, guests, and staff in the dining room or bistro
  • bus and reset tables as needed
  • prepare salad bar items for lunch
  • fill salad bar with ice and set for service, including gathering plates and bowls as necessary for salad bar and soup kettles
  • prepare and stage desserts
  • light food prep for special events
  • assist in setting up meetings or other special events, including delivery of snacks, coffee, tea, etc.
  • follow all sanitation guidelines, federal/state regulations, and senior living/healthcare requirements
  • maintain cleanliness of prep items
  • follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled and/or needed
  • open and close dining rooms as needed
