Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- current food handler's permit
- preferred one year of food service experience
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- must be able to read and understand written instructions
- must follow safety practices
- ability to work with limited supervision
- physically able to perform duties including lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent standing and walking
- adherence to dress code and kitchen uniform requirements
- must be dependable and detail oriented
- must demonstrate patience and compassion towards senior adults
- able to handle emergency situations calmly
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- current food handler's permit
- training in ServSafe is beneficial
- one year of food service experience preferred, including serving/waiting tables, cleaning and kitchen sanitation protocols, basic food/meal preparation
- effective verbal and written communication skills
- ability to read and follow written instructions and safety practices
- cordial and congenial with residents
- dependable, detail oriented, organized and good follow through
- ability to work within standard policy and procedures and with limited direct supervision
- ability to handle a variety of tasks and functions

Job Duties
- Assist in food preparation, hospitality duties, and meal service, including serving food, waiting tables, and bussing tables
- serve breakfast, lunch and dinner meals to residents, guests, and staff in the dining room or bistro
- bus and reset tables as needed
- prepare salad bar items for lunch including filling salad bar with ice and setting for service
- prepare and stage desserts
- light food prep for special events
- assist in setting up meetings or other special events including delivery of snacks, coffee, tea, etc.
- follow all sanitation guidelines, federal and state regulations, and senior living and healthcare requirements
- maintain cleanliness of prep items
- follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled and/or needed
- open and close dining rooms as needed
