Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Current Food Handler's Permit
- One year of food service experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, sit, twist, bend, squat, kneel, or crouch as needed
- Adequate sight and hearing
- Cordial and dependable attitude
- Adherence to dress code and hygiene standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Current Food Handler's Permit
- Training in ServSafe is beneficial
- One year of food service experience including serving/waiting tables, cleaning, and kitchen sanitation protocols preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and safety practices
- Cordial and congenial attitude toward residents
- Dependable, detail oriented, and organized with good follow through
- Ability to work independently within policy and procedure guidelines
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and functions
- Ability to remain calm in emergency situations
- Patience and compassion for senior adults
- Consideration for resident's comfort, safety, security and belongings
- Ability to set priorities and manage time efficiently
- Maintains work area neat and orderly
- Adherence to organizational and state food code dress and grooming standards
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, preparation and serving practices
- Ability to work cooperatively with employees, residents, families, visitors and other professionals
Job Duties
- Assist in food preparation, hospitality duties, and meal service including serving food, waiting tables, and bussing tables
- Serve breakfast, lunch and dinner meals to residents, guests, and staff in the dining room or bistro
- Bus and reset tables as needed
- Prepare salad bar items for lunch, including filling with ice and preparing plates and bowls
- Prepare and stage desserts and assist with light food prep for special events
- Assist in setting up meetings and special events including delivery of snacks, coffee, tea
- Follow all sanitation guidelines, federal/state regulations, and Senior Living/Healthcare requirements
- Maintain cleanliness of prep items and dining areas
- Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled and/or needed
- Open and close dining rooms as needed
