Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Current food handler's permit
- Effective communication skills in English verbal and written
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and safety protocols
- Dependable and detail oriented
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Physical ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
- Capability to perform activities involving stooping, bending, climbing, reaching, pushing/pulling, standing and walking for extended periods
- Adequate sight and hearing
- Ability to remain calm under emergency conditions
- Compassion for senior adults
- Ability to maintain resident comfort, safety, security and respect for belongings
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Current food handler's permit
- Training in Servsafe is beneficial
- One year of food service experience preferred including serving/waiting tables, cleaning and kitchen sanitation protocols, basic food/meal preparation
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English
- Ability to read and understand written instructions and follow safety practices
- Cordial and congenial with residents
- Dependable, detail oriented, organized, with good follow-through
- Ability to work within standard policies and procedures and with limited supervision
- Ability to handle a variety of tasks and functions
- Ability to react calmly in emergency situations
- Patience and compassion towards senior adults
- Considerate of residents' comfort, safety, security and belongings
- Demonstrated ability to set and establish priorities

Job Duties
- Assist in food preparation, hospitality duties, and meal service, including serving food, waiting tables, and bussing tables
- Serve breakfast, lunch and dinner meals to residents, guests, and staff in the dining room or bistro
- Bus and reset tables as needed
- Prepare salad bar items for lunch including filling salad bar with ice, gathering plates and bowls for salad bar and soup kettles
- Prepare and stage desserts
- Assist in light food prep for special events
- Assist in setting up for meetings and other special events including delivery of snacks, coffee, tea, etc.
- Follow all sanitation guidelines, federal and state regulations, and senior living and healthcare requirements
- Maintain cleanliness of prep items
- Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled and/or needed
- Open and close dining rooms as needed
