Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 0-2 years of previous experience preferred
  • applicable state or county licensure preferred
  • CPR or BLS certification preferred

  • proficiency in internet browsers and Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, Word and Publisher
  • familiarity with electronic health records systems and HR related systems if applicable

Job Duties

  • supporting all catering, room service, special party needs, marketing functions
  • taking drink and food orders, serving residents and guests in a professional and efficient manner
  • maintaining a clean work area by assisting with washing pots, pans and cooking utensils used to prepare meals
  • clearing, sanitizing, and setting tables, removing garbage and cleaning trash containers, completing daily checklist of duties for kitchen and dining areas
  • assisting in cleaning work areas, dining room floor, tables and chairs after meals and special events, sweeping, vacuuming and mopping floor at end of shift
  • possessing a working knowledge of individual assignments and resident dining needs
  • assisting in controlling food costs when possible
  • reading and following recipe books and labels
  • safely operating and cleaning all kitchen equipment and cooking utensils
  • understanding dining menus and effectively communicating information to residents
  • ensuring table settings meet Cedarhurst dining standards
  • remaining current with all food safety licensing requirements and adhering to guidelines
  • maintaining safety standards for infection control
  • utilizing basic mathematical concepts for practical situations
  • ensuring effective communication with residents' families concerning care
  • working well with others and taking direction from management
  • engaging in conflict intervention and resolution
  • other duties as assigned
