Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous dining service experience preferred
- ability to read and follow instructions
- willingness to perform repetitive tasks
- ability to work in physically demanding conditions including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and exposure to temperature variations
- ability to follow safety and infection control protocols
- must be free from infections or diseases
- must be patient and tolerant
- must be willing to receive Hepatitis A vaccine if working in St. Louis County
Job Qualifications
- previous dining service experience preferred
- ability to read, understand, and follow recipe instructions, diet orders, resident preference cards, and work assignments
- willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions
- patience and tolerance with staff, residents, and family members
- must have or be willing to receive Hepatitis A vaccine if working within St. Louis County according to health regulations
Job Duties
- perform defined work routines using various dining service utensils, supplies, and equipment as assigned
- assist with all aspects of dining service set-up in dining rooms and at catered events, including preparing beverages, salads, desserts, and other food items as instructed and in accordance with recipes
- ensure all foods are served at proper temperatures and on time
- assist with dining room set up including setting tables, stocking buffets, and serving residents
- assist with clean-up to ensure all dining service areas are maintained according to policies and standards, including bussing tables, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing dishes, removing trash, stocking and storing items correctly
- assist in receiving and storing food and supplies
- follow all safety procedures and protocols as mandated by policy and regulations and report hazardous conditions, defective equipment, accidents or incidents to supervisor
- maintain all necessary documentation including HACCP logs, product usage, and waste amounts
- follow infection control procedures including proper hand washing, food storage, disposal, and wearing protective clothing when handling waste and cleaning agents
