Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma
  • three years of experience in senior living preferred
  • food handler's license
  • OLCC certification
  • previous restaurant experience preferred
  • ability to work weekends
  • strong supervisory and organizational skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • knowledge of sanitation and infection control standards
  • ability to maintain labor cost control
  • willingness to participate in safety and infection control meetings

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstration of core values including love kindness honesty goodness fairness and respect
  • possession of food handler's and OLCC licenses or certifications
  • minimum high school diploma
  • previous experience in a restaurant preferred
  • ability to read write and use mathematics and units of measurement
  • knowledge of menus recipes food purchasing preparation and storage
  • ability to supervise and manage
  • knowledge of community policies procedures and job descriptions
  • knowledge of ADA state infection control health department and OSHA regulations
  • minimum three years experience in senior living preferred
  • passion to work with seniors
  • previous experience managing an assisted living community preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervise food service and assist as necessary
  • be present in dining rooms for full meal service
  • assist and coordinate special functions and corporate meeting food service
  • attend daily manager stand-up meetings
  • maintain high sanitation standards
  • oversee bistro areas including food presentation cleanliness and supplies
  • ensure all necessary supplies are ordered such as tablecloths napkins and silverware
  • maintain beverage equipment in dining rooms and bistros
  • maintain control of labor costs
  • schedule dining service employees
  • visit residents to gather information on food preferences
  • maintain records such as meal census diets served and weekly staffing patterns
  • hire provide orientation and training evaluate and supervise dietary department employees within budget
  • ensure wait staff know daily specials and preparation
  • supervise cleaning procedures to ensure safe sanitary conditions in food service areas including kitchen dining room and bistros
  • work with other departments within the building
  • establish practice of serving hot food hot and cold food cold
  • instruct new residents on meal times and coffee availability
  • participate in safety meetings including infection control and safety committee functions
  • cover shifts as necessary when short staffed or employees call in
  • perform duties as specified by Executive Chef or Executive Director
