Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma
  • valid Food Handler's and OLCC certifications
  • prior experience in food service or restaurant environment preferred
  • ability to supervise and train staff
  • knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations
  • strong organizational and communication skills
  • availability to work Tuesday through Saturday

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstration of core values including love, kindness, honesty, goodness, fairness, and respect
  • valid Food Handler's and OLCC certifications
  • minimum high school diploma
  • preferred previous restaurant experience
  • ability to read, write, and use mathematics and measurement units
  • knowledge of menus, recipes, food purchasing, preparation, and storage
  • ability to supervise and manage staff
  • knowledge of community policies, procedures, and job descriptions
  • understanding of ADA, state, infection control, health department, and OSHA regulations
  • minimum three years' senior living experience preferred
  • passion for working with seniors
  • preferred management experience in Assisted Living community

Job Duties

  • Supervise food service and assist as necessary
  • be present in dining rooms for full meal service
  • assist and coordinate special functions and corporate meeting food service
  • attend daily manager stand-up meetings
  • maintain high sanitation standards
  • oversee bistro areas including food presentation, cleanliness, and supplies
  • ensure ordering of dining room supplies such as tablecloths, napkins, and silverware
  • maintain maintenance of beverage equipment
  • control labor costs
  • schedule dining service employees
  • visit residents and assist in gathering information on food preferences
  • maintain records such as meal census, diets served, and staffing patterns
  • hire, orient, train, evaluate, and supervise dietary department employees within budget
  • ensure wait staff know daily specials and preparations
  • supervise cleaning procedures for safe and sanitary conditions
  • collaborate with other departments within the building
  • establish practice of serving hot food hot and cold food cold
  • instruct new residents on meal schedules and coffee availability
  • participate in safety meetings including infection control and safety committee functions
  • cover shifts as necessary
  • perform other duties as assigned by Executive Chef or Executive Director
