Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in dining room supervision or related role
  • ability to stand for long periods and walk
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • capability to perform repetitive motions
  • willing to work in hot, humid, and noisy environments
  • good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • availability to work various shifts including evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Willing to obtain ServSafe certification
  • experience in hospitality or dining supervision preferred
  • knowledge of various dining service styles such as American, Russian and French
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • ability to train and evaluate staff
  • familiarity with POS systems
  • ability to manage budgets and increase revenue
  • excellent customer service skills
  • knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service

Job Duties

  • Designs floor plans according to reservations
  • plans dining room set-up based on anticipated guest counts and client needs
  • takes reservations and maintains reservations log
  • greets and seats members and guests alongside hostess
  • inspects dining room employees for proper and clean uniforms
  • trains, supervises, and evaluates dining room staff
  • receives and resolves complaints concerning dining room service
  • serves as liaison between dining room and kitchen staff
  • assures completion of side-work and cleaning of equipment and storage areas
  • directs pre-meal meetings with dining room personnel
  • leads staff through service types such as American, Russian, French and buffet
  • checks appearance, cleanliness and safety of dining room areas, equipment and fixtures
  • suggests improvements in service procedures and layout
  • trains staff on POS system
  • assures security of dining room and club areas at end of day
  • maintains inventory of dining room items and proper storage
  • utilizes computer to charge members accurately
  • assists in service
  • attends staff meetings
  • may serve as opening and closing manager or manager on duty
  • assists in developing wine lists and beverage promotions
  • assures compliance with laws and club policies on alcoholic beverage service
  • performs other assignments as required by management
