Job Requirements

  • Minimum age is 18
  • High school diploma
  • Prior experience in dining services preferred
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with elderly populations
  • Ability to organize and manage staff
  • Ability to perform safety audits and monitor service quality

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma
  • Prior experience working in dining service is preferred
  • Additional education and training in management is desirable
  • Genuine desire to understand the needs of and work among a geriatric population
  • Ability to supervise and direct others in close harmony with a variety of age groups especially students and the elderly
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, written and verbal, English
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities in a professional and prompt manner

Job Duties

  • Point of contact when Dining services director is off
  • Supervises and schedules cooks, attendants, and dishwashers
  • Works with the Dining Services Director to hire, evaluate, discipline, and terminate dining room staff
  • Directs the orientation and training of dining room staff
  • Sets up workstation assignments for wait staff
  • Assigns duties to staff as needed
  • Recognizes the need to join in on service when necessary
  • Monitors service to assure consistent high quality is maintained
  • Provides input to the director and production unit regarding resident meal service, resident satisfaction, guest meal reservations, and tray service
  • Enters dietary information into tray card system
  • Gives welcome and orientation to new residents regarding the dining experience
  • Performs tray card audits
  • Completes walk thru safety audits
  • Leads daily huddles
  • Completes floor stock orders
