Job Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a valid CA noncommercial Class C driver license
- Ability to work variable schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Must be 18 years or older
- Successful completion of background check including Live Scan
- Completion of satisfactory pre-placement physical examination
- Maintain satisfactory driving record under CA DMV Pull Notice System
- Ability to drive university vehicles
Job Qualifications
- 6-12 months experience as a food server in a restaurant, casual or fine dining setting
- 1+ years guest service experience in a fast-paced restaurant preferred
- Ability to engage with diverse populations respectfully and culturally responsively
- Ability to remain calm in customer dissatisfaction situations
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal English
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environment with fluctuating workload
- Demonstrated ability to prepare beverages and perform single-step food prep tasks
- Ability to comply with food safety and sanitation standards
- Math skills sufficient for production and payment transactions
- Skill in interacting positively with guests, team members, and managers
- Working knowledge of basic culinary techniques preferred
- Working knowledge of alcoholic beverages preferred
Job Duties
- Provide courteous and gracious service to guests
- Serve as wait staff, buffet attendant, and bar/lounge server
- Serve alcoholic beverages and make beverage recommendations
- Answer questions about menus and beverages professionally
- Deliver and serve food and beverage items in a timely manner
- Prepare beverages and complete simple food preparation tasks
- Adhere to safety and sanitation standards for food handling
