Job Requirements
- Have at least a high school diploma or GED
- have a minimum of three months previous experience waiting tables, fine dining preferred
- possess effective communication skills
- ability to work well with elderly residents and team members
- ability to interpret menu and coordinate meal service
- maintain professionalism and proper uniform
- be physically able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach and carry up to 20 lbs
- comply with sanitary guidelines and health regulations
- attend assigned training sessions
- conduct yourself in a respectful and positive manner
- be responsible for covering your shifts if unable to work
- follow logging in procedures and workplace policies
- complete all side duties before shift end
- adhere to confidentiality guidelines
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- minimum of three months previous experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant, or club with fine dining preferred
- effective oral and written communication skills
- ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisors and peers
- empathy for the elderly
- ability to interpret and explain menu items and coordinate meal service process
- ability to maintain professionalism in conduct and appearance
- ability to stand and walk for entire shift
- ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs
- ability to push and pull bus carts weighing up to 50 lbs
Job Duties
- Sets tables and maintains workstations in proper order
- takes orders, provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously
- clears dishes from tables during and after meal service
- answers pertinent questions about menu items
- assists with dish washing and distribution of clean dishes, if needed
- assists in maintaining a high level of customer service for residents and their guests
- advises the Restaurant Manager regarding dining room status
- sets up all catering events and cleans up after all catering events
- completes all assigned cleaning tasks
- maintains safe and sanitary conditions in work areas
- attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned
- performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
