Job Requirements

  • Have at least a high school diploma or GED
  • have a minimum of three months previous experience waiting tables, fine dining preferred
  • possess effective communication skills
  • ability to work well with elderly residents and team members
  • ability to interpret menu and coordinate meal service
  • maintain professionalism and proper uniform
  • be physically able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach and carry up to 20 lbs
  • comply with sanitary guidelines and health regulations
  • attend assigned training sessions
  • conduct yourself in a respectful and positive manner
  • be responsible for covering your shifts if unable to work
  • follow logging in procedures and workplace policies
  • complete all side duties before shift end
  • adhere to confidentiality guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • minimum of three months previous experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant, or club with fine dining preferred
  • effective oral and written communication skills
  • ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisors and peers
  • empathy for the elderly
  • ability to interpret and explain menu items and coordinate meal service process
  • ability to maintain professionalism in conduct and appearance
  • ability to stand and walk for entire shift
  • ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs
  • ability to push and pull bus carts weighing up to 50 lbs

Job Duties

  • Sets tables and maintains workstations in proper order
  • takes orders, provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously
  • clears dishes from tables during and after meal service
  • answers pertinent questions about menu items
  • assists with dish washing and distribution of clean dishes, if needed
  • assists in maintaining a high level of customer service for residents and their guests
  • advises the Restaurant Manager regarding dining room status
  • sets up all catering events and cleans up after all catering events
  • completes all assigned cleaning tasks
  • maintains safe and sanitary conditions in work areas
  • attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned
  • performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
