Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to two years of experience in a related food service role
  • Ability to operate a computer
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends
  • Ability to calculate simple mathematical equations
  • Ability to interpret menus and recipes
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Direct activities, provides guidance and assists staff performing food service duties
  • Performs Host duties including seating residents
  • Works in the Bistro and handles cash when necessary
  • Collects resident food orders and deliver food directly to residents
  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, pans and or silverware by hand washing or using the dishwasher
  • Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage
  • Carry food supplies, equipment and utensils to and from storage and work areas
  • Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers
  • Scrape leftovers from dishes into garbage containers
  • Sweep and mop the kitchen and dining room floor
  • Ensure Dining Services Assistants are completing assigned closing checklists
  • Ensure Dining Services Assistants are bussing their tables in a timely manor
  • Collects comment cards
  • Resolve customer complaints regarding food service
  • Inform Director of Dining Services of any equipment and supply needs, repair/maintenance needs, safety hazards, and any unusual occurrences or observations
  • Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings and training opportunities in order to keep informed on current information and skill development
  • Follow established policies and procedures including but not limited to: Presbyterian Villages policies and procedures, Safety policies and procedures, Federal, state and local regulations
  • All other duties as assigned
