Job Requirements
- Must be eighteen 18 years of age
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Prefer six 6 months experience working in a food and beverage environment
- Able to safely operate standard household equipment such as dishwasher, iron, vacuum, washer, dryer
- Able to operate standard office equipment
- Knowledge of and/or ability to learn assisted living and dementia care practices
- Able to work with seniors and interact patiently with cognitively impaired individuals
- Able to be flexible and adapt to change
- Able to make decisions in stressful situations and prioritize tasks
- Able to follow written or oral instructions
- Able to analyze and solve problems effectively
- Able to read, write and speak English and communicate effectively
- Highly motivated and able to work independently
- Able to obtain and maintain valid Food Handler’s certification as needed
- Be physically mobile and capable of performing job's physical requirements
- Maintain good physical health verified by health screening including chest x-ray or intradermal test result as required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months experience working in food and beverage environment preferred
- Knowledge of assisted living and dementia care theory and practice preferred
- Ability to interact patiently with cognitively impaired individuals
- Ability to operate standard household and office equipment
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and prioritize tasks
- Ability to maintain professionalism and tact in customer service
- Ability to work independently and highly motivated
- Ability to obtain and maintain valid Food Handler’s certification
- Ability to maintain physical health to meet job requirements
- Flexible availability to work holidays, evenings, weekends and additional shifts
- Effective teamwork and cooperative skills
- Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures

Job Duties
- Serve meals to residents, family members and visitors in a professional, dignified, efficient and courteous manner
- Bring, serve, prepare and refill beverages including water, coffee, soda, wine, beer, and cocktails in appropriate glasses
- Open and serve wine and beer as applicable, stock bar with wine, beer, liquor, mixers and garnishes
- Accurately take residents’ and guests’ food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system
- Properly input to-go and take-out orders as well as employee meals
- Verify food prepared matches items ordered on POS and ensure special requests are met
- Assist residents with menu selections and provide information on ingredients and cooking methods
- Ensure plates are presentable before serving and deliver food using trays and tray stands
- Assure compliance with proper serving techniques and etiquette
- Set up dining room tables and server stations with necessary utensils and supplies
- Bus tables and clean dining areas including sweeping and vacuuming
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of beverage stations
- Cooperate with team members and assist in food inventory and kitchen duties as needed
- Deliver meals to resident rooms
- Respond to resident concerns with professionalism
- Participate in daily team meetings and comply with safety and infection control standards
- Support positive community environment and attend scheduled trainings
- Maintain required certifications and demonstrate flexibility with work schedule
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Executive Chef
- Encourage teamwork and support marketing efforts through positive interactions
- Communicate any observed resident changes to Assisted Living/Memory Care Department.
