Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Must successfully clear a background check, TB skin test or x-ray, and health screening
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current certificate of training for fire safety
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and flexible hours when necessary
  • Physical ability to lift more than 25 lbs routinely and up to 150 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to stand and walk for several hours during a day
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist and climb stairs repeatedly
  • Capacity to work under pressure and rapidly for extended periods
  • Willingness to follow professional dress code and no cell phone policy as outlined in employee handbook
  • Adherence to all Orchard policies and confidential handling of resident and staff information according to HIPAA rules
  • Ability to maintain positive communication and team collaboration
  • Commitment to ongoing education and training requirements
  • Ability to participate in safety programs and emergency procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Customer service oriented with ability to multi-task
  • Must successfully clear background check, TB skin test or x-ray, and health screening
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current certificate of training for successful completion of five-hour initial fire safety training provided by Rules and Regulations of the Georgia Safety Fire Commissioner
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, policies, and employee manuals
  • Ability to speak effectively in front of others
  • Ability to solve practical problems and manage various situations
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work semi-independently
  • Upholds organizational values and works with integrity

Job Duties

  • Performs dining service duties in accordance to Orchard dining standards based on server training
  • Is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the dining room including removal of soiled dishes after each service, replacing dirty tablecloths and napkins, resetting table settings, and vacuuming floors
  • Perform defined work routines using various dietary utensils, supplies, and equipment as assigned by Executive Chef or Culinary Team Leader
  • Provide assistance to the cook in preparation and service of meals
  • Meet scheduled meal and snack times
  • Maintain knowledge of resident's diet restrictions, allergies, and preferences
  • Knowledge of the menu with ability to make suggestions
  • Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled
  • Set up the dining room and serve residents
  • Wash and store dishes
  • Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies
  • Attend in-service educational programs
  • Follow hygiene and safety codes while performing all duties
  • Understand facility’s fire and disaster plans and follow procedures during drills and emergencies
  • Perform other department duties or special assignments as directed by Executive Chef or Culinary Team Leader
