Job Requirements

  • Must have a satisfactory criminal history check
  • Must have physical exam by a licensed physician
  • Must have a negative drug screen

Job Duties

  • Serve food in accordance with nutritional guidelines local health department regulations and resident's individual prescribed diet and food preferences
  • Assist care partners with serving quality meals during main meal times in main dining room
  • Serve resident and guest meals in accordance with Oaks All Day Dining program
  • Assist in fostering residents' independence with eating by providing adaptive equipment when needed
  • Ensure healthy snacks are set out at appropriate and scheduled times
  • Acquaint new residents with menus seating and dining options and hours
  • Ensure that food is delivered on time and in a pleasant manner
  • Ensure Resident food needs and preferences are known and are being honored
  • Take resident orders for meals on a daily basis
  • Respond to customer service requests and complaints
  • Notify Food Service Director or Lead Cook of any malfunctioning kitchen equipment or appliances
  • Clean and sanitize tables chairs condiment containers and equipment used in the dining room
  • Vacuum dining room after each main meal setting
  • Spot clean carpet as needed
  • Wash and prepare linen napkins for place setting
  • Communicate resident likes and dislikes to Food Service Director for menu planning purposes and resident satisfaction
  • Inform kitchen staff if residents will be out of community at meal time
  • Inform kitchen staff when resident would like to have a meal outside of scheduled meal times
  • Inform kitchen staff when guest will be joining for meal
  • Create a strong sense of team work and cooperation among all staff
  • Ensure table settings are complete and have fresh condiments for the service
  • Prepare and serve beverages including refilling coffee tea and other beverages during main meals and throughout the day in accordance with Oaks All Day dining program
  • Observe changes in resident status needs or preferences and communicate them appropriately to Wellness Director
  • Assist care partners with clearing dining tables during main meal times
  • Reset dining tables with place settings and ensure salt and pepper shakers are clean and full sugar packets and creamers are replenished immediately following meal times
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ensure compliance with local health department regulations and the Oaks Senior Living policies and procedures
  • Maintain a clean organized and safe dining room environment
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of food in accordance with infection control standards
  • Maintain CPR and First Aid certification
