Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • three years experience as a cook required
  • culinary school experience may substitute for years of experience
  • Serve Safe certification preferred
  • ability to follow recipes and food preparation guidelines
  • strong communication and teamwork skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Performs a variety of tasks in the preparation of meals
  • interprets recipes
  • cooks and assembles large volumes of food for the cafeteria, patient, and catering meals
  • maintains food safety and sanitation standards
  • collaborates with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal production
  • assists in inventory management and stock rotation
  • ensures compliance with organizational dietary guidelines
