Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to understand menus, record orders, and communicate with guests
  • ability to repeatedly transport large serving trays weighing up to 40 pounds through crowded areas
  • availability for rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
  • live within a commutable distance to NewYork-Presbyterian
  • willingness to work onsite

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED
  • previous food service and/or hospitality experience in a formal setting preferred
  • formal black and white room service/waiter experience preferred
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • ability to handle serving trays and work in a dynamic environment

Job Duties

  • graciously serve food and beverages to patients, staff, and visitors
  • assist guests in meal selections compliant with dietary restrictions
  • articulate menu offerings and specials with clear descriptions
  • monitor cleanliness and presentation of equipment, flatware, plateware, and glassware
  • promote menu items with exceptional customer service
  • take and recite orders accurately
  • provide friendly and helpful customer service
