Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to understand menus, record orders, and communicate with guests
- ability to repeatedly transport large serving trays weighing up to 40 pounds through crowded areas
- availability for rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
- live within a commutable distance to NewYork-Presbyterian
- willingness to work onsite
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED
- previous food service and/or hospitality experience in a formal setting preferred
- formal black and white room service/waiter experience preferred
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- ability to handle serving trays and work in a dynamic environment
Job Duties
- graciously serve food and beverages to patients, staff, and visitors
- assist guests in meal selections compliant with dietary restrictions
- articulate menu offerings and specials with clear descriptions
- monitor cleanliness and presentation of equipment, flatware, plateware, and glassware
- promote menu items with exceptional customer service
- take and recite orders accurately
- provide friendly and helpful customer service
