Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality or culinary arts preferred
  • Three to five years of food service operation experience
  • Sanitation certified (ServSafe) or ability to obtain within 30 days
  • High volume production and catering experience
  • Previous experience in menu development
  • Knowledge of budgets, food and labor costs and inventory control
  • Strong organizational, leadership, coaching and training skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to rapidly changing priorities and work demands
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as needed to meet community needs

Job Duties

  • Create and follow written recipes and prepare high-quality, delicious, and nutritious menu options
  • Develop menus and special meals for residents
  • Maintain dietary staffing and staff development including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
  • Manage all aspects of the kitchen including personnel and cooking stations
  • Ensure costs are allocated to the appropriate GL codes and kitchen budget is maintained
  • Oversee vendor relationships and inventory control
  • Address work-related issues and disciplinary actions under supervision
