Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in hospitality or culinary
- Minimum three years of food service management experience
- Certification in sanitation such as ServSafe or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Proven experience in high-volume food production and catering
- Experience with menu development and dietary planning
- Understanding of budget management including food and labor cost control
- Demonstrated leadership and staff development capabilities
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work flexible hours as community demands
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality or culinary degree preferred
- Three to five years of food service operation experience
- Sanitation Certified (ServSafe) or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
- Experience in high-volume production and catering
- Previous experience in menu development
- Knowledge of budgets, food and labor costs, and inventory control
- Strong organizational, leadership, coaching, and training skills
- Flexible and adaptable to rapidly changing priorities and work demands
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet community needs
Job Duties
- Creates and follows written recipes and prepares high-quality delicious, quality, and nutritious menu options
- Develops menus and special meals for residents
- Maintains dietary staffing and staff development including determining staffing requirements
- Interviews and hires new dietary employees
- Trains new staff in the kitchen
- Conducts in-person performance review evaluations
- Determines merit increases and promotions in line with budget and community guidelines
- Provides termination recommendations and addresses work-related issues and disciplinary actions under supervision
- Manages all aspects of the kitchen including personnel and cooking stations
- Ensures costs are allocated to appropriate GL Codes and the kitchen budget aligns with expectations
