Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality or culinary arts preferred
- Minimum three years of food service operation experience
- ServSafe sanitation certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Experience managing high-volume production and catering
- Proven menu development skills
- Knowledge of budgeting, food and labor cost management
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
- Ability to adapt to changing work priorities
- Availability to work flexible hours
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality or culinary arts preferred
- Three to five years of food service operation experience
- Sanitation Certified (ServSafe) or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Experience in high-volume production and catering
- Previous menu development experience
- Knowledge of budgets, food and labor costs, and inventory control
- Strong organizational, leadership, coaching and training skills
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and demands
- Willingness to work flexible schedule to meet community needs
Job Duties
- Creates and follows written recipes to prepare high-quality delicious, nutritious menu options
- Develops menus and special meals for residents
- Maintains dietary staffing and staff development including determining staffing requirements, interviewing and hiring new dietary employees, training new kitchen staff, conducting performance reviews, determining merit increases and promotions, providing termination recommendations and managing work-related issues
- Manages all aspects of the kitchen including personnel and cooking stations
- Ensures costs are allocated correctly and kitchen budget aligns with company expectations
- Oversees vendor relationships and inventory control
- Coordinates with the Executive Director on disciplinary and staffing matters
