Job Requirements

  • Valid food handler license from Fayette County obtained before first scheduled shift
  • Valid license from Kentucky Horse Racing Commission provided at hiring
  • Ability to lift 23 kg and stand for long periods
  • Flexible availability during racing and event days
  • Positive and optimistic attitude with strong team orientation
  • Minimum 2 years bartending experience in high-volume or upscale settings

Job Qualifications

  • More than 2 years of experience as a bartender in high-end or high-volume environments
  • Strong knowledge of spirits, wines and bartending techniques
  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure under pressure
  • Flexible availability, especially during horse racing days and major events
  • Positive attitude and strong team spirit

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve craft cocktails, wine and beer according to recipes and standard presentation guidelines
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient bar before, during and after service
  • Interact with customers professionally and warmly, offering recommendations and sharing cocktail stories
  • Ensure all garnishes, syrups and preparation ingredients are stored properly
  • Comply with all health codes, safety and sanitation procedures, including correct use of jigger, shaking technique and glassware handling
  • Prepare batch cocktails and contribute to bar efficiency
  • Support wine service standards, including presentation and proper pouring technique
  • Communicate proactively with team to maintain smooth service flow
  • Uphold Keeneland values of tradition, excellence and high-quality hospitality
