Job Requirements

high school diploma or equivalent preferred
knowledge of restaurant and foodservice ordering and POS systems
one year of server or foodservice experience
ability to obtain ServSafe certification within six months of employment
ability to obtain ServSafe Alcohol certification within six months of employment
ability to stand and walk for extended periods
ability to lift up to 40 lbs and push food carts
ability to tolerate a noisy, hot, humid environment and cold temperatures
ability to complete WorkSTEPS Functional Testing
strong communication skills
ability to work overtime, holidays, and weekends
ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines
ability to adhere to sanitation and food handling protocols

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
knowledge of restaurant/foodservice ordering and POS systems
one year of server/foodservice experience

ServSafe Alcohol certified or ability to obtain within six months
ability to perform simple math functions and use a 10-key calculator
strong verbal communication skills
ability to read, write, understand, and speak English fluently
ability to work independently and as part of a team

ability to interface positively with residents and personnel
willingness to participate in ongoing training and education
ability to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as assigned

bilingualism is a plus but not required

Job Duties

Learn, practice, and mentor fellow Artists in the 5 core competencies central to OTF training
assure resident satisfaction in all dining venues
accurately record and share information with residents, guests and staff before, during, and after meal service periods
accurately record all orders/selections before entering information into POS software and/or communicating with kitchen staff
proactively be of service to residents, anticipating needs and offering to assist residents
assist with food and beverage items such as ladling soup, preparing salads, beverages, desserts
maintain food and beverage preparations and duties working closely with dining and kitchen management
set-up, maintain, and break-down all areas in dining venues, service stations, and some kitchen areas maintaining sanitation, safety, organization and cleanliness
perform duties assigned by Dining Arts Managers, Supervisors, and Lead Servers
work overtime, holidays, and weekends as assigned
actively participate during in-service education programs and training of new service personnel
adhere to all sanitation and food handling protocols
demonstrate compliance with federal, state and local regulations
maintain all Dining Arts department protocols and procedures
maintain proper personal appearance and hygiene
maintain confidentiality of sensitive information according to HIPPA guidelines
report hazardous conditions and workplace incidents
maintain a high level of customer service and quality
attend department meetings as necessary
assist with interviews, orientation and training programs for new employees
improve communication skills internally and with residents
be detail oriented and accurate in duties
interface positively with people at all levels
work harmoniously with other personnel
practice proper greetings for residents and guests

apply sanitation and food safety policies
properly use cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials
