Job Requirements
- You must be a U.S. citizen
- Selective Service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Subject to background/security investigation
- Completion of online onboarding process with acceptable identification
- Must have a current, valid state-issued driver's license
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle with a physical examination validating this capacity
- Participation in seasonal influenza vaccination program
- Completion of all application requirements
- Serve a 1 or 2-year trial period
- Meet visual and hearing standards to operate a government vehicle
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist or exception for GS-07 and GS-09 levels with specific academic and experiential criteria
- Ability to engage effectively with Veterans and caregivers
- Compliance with federal employment policies and regulations
Job Qualifications
- United States citizenship
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or Registered Dietitian (RD) credential
- Knowledge of nutrition care processes and evidence-based nutrition practices
- Experience in clinical nutrition patient care in inpatient or outpatient settings
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse age groups
- Ability to develop and implement individualized Medical Nutrition Therapy plans
- Skill in collaborating with healthcare teams and stakeholders
- Familiarity with virtual technology for nutritional care delivery
Job Duties
- Provide comprehensive nutritional care to Veterans with complex medical needs
- Develop individualized nutritional care plans and interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary Home Based Primary Care team members
- Conduct nutritional assessments and monitor patient progress
- Engage Veterans and caregivers in therapeutic nutrition education
- Utilize evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes
- Support chronic disease management and palliative care through dietetics
