Job Requirements
- Must have completed or be enrolled in an approved Dietary Manager's Course
- Must have training in food service
- Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions
- Knowledge of principles of dietetics, food sanitation and service
- Familiarity with large scale purchasing and preparation of food
- Knowledge of labor laws
- Ability to operate all equipment
- Understanding of special diet requirements in a wide range of diseases
- Skills in mathematics and bookkeeping procedures
- Keyboarding and computer skills
Job Qualifications
- Completed or enrolled in an approved Dietary Manager's Course
- Training in food service
- Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions
- Courses in foods and nutrition and personnel management or supervisory training are desirable
- Registered and/or Licensed Dietitian, Certified Dietary Manager or Diet Tech with supervisory experience is desirable
- Knowledge of principles of dietetics, food sanitation and service
- Familiarity with large scale purchasing and preparation of food
- Understanding of labor laws and accredited food service techniques
- Experience operating all equipment and meeting special diet requirements in a wide range of diseases
- Proficient in mathematics and bookkeeping procedures
- Keyboarding and computer skills
Job Duties
- Oversee all aspects of assuring quality service within the dietary operation
- Attend all Department Head Meetings
- Maintain department within budget parameters
- Order all food and keep ongoing tally of invoices, routing invoices appropriately
- Monitor job performance of all dietary employees
- Authorize overtime and paid time off
- Interview, check references, complete paperwork, and assist with orientation per personnel policy
- Prepare work performance evaluations and recommend merit percentage increases
- Ensure adherence of dietary employees to all company rules and policies
- Administer discipline as appropriate per personnel policy
