Job Requirements
- Education level of AA or higher in Food Service Management or Hospitality
- Minimum two years experience in food and nutrition services leadership
- Certification as a Dietary Manager or Food Service Manager or equivalent national certification
- Working knowledge of nutrition care standards and safety regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to manage and supervise a team of 15-20 employees
- Compliance with health, safety, and food service regulations
- Preference for fully vaccinated candidates
Job Qualifications
- Two or more years experience as a director of food and nutrition services
- Completion of a minimum course of study in food safety
- Certified Dietary Manager or Certified Food Service Manager or Certification for Food Service Management and Safety from a national certifying body
- AA or higher degree in Food Service Management or Hospitality
- Working knowledge of clinical competencies based on Nutrition Care Standards of the American Dietetic Association
- Strong communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Customer service skills
- Problem solving skills
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and JCAHO requirements
- Knowledge of serving various nutritional risk categories and DRG coding
- Familiarity with oral and nutritional supplements, meal patterns and care plans
Job Duties
- Organize, plan, direct, control and supervise dietary department functions and personnel
- Ensure quality food, service and nutritional care
- Complete nutrition related clerical activities and coordinate communication within the department including scheduling
- Review medical records and admission nutrition screens to collect nutrition risk data
- Identify patients and nutritional risk using scoring guidelines and initiate dietitian referrals
- Issue nutrition plans, menu plans and nourishment schedules
- Monitor intake and acceptance of meals and snacks
- Calculate calorie count results
- Complete weekly tray line audits
- Monitor tray line for accuracy, service, appearance, taste and temperature
- Ensure standard of service, appearance and cleanliness of dining room
- Test cooked food for palatability and flavor conformity
- Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality, service or accommodations
- Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries and verify product quality and quantity
- Monitor budgets and payroll records
- Review financial transactions for authorization and budgeting
- Monitor compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving and building maintenance
- Perform additional duties assigned by leadership
- Directly supervise 15-20 employees
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and laws
