Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in dietary management within an assisted living or elder care setting
  • Experience in using inventory management and system to order from suppliers
  • Experience in menu planning
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and diet therapy principles
  • Proven experience in menu planning, food cost management, and staff supervision

  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM), ServeSafe Certified, or similar certification preferred
  • Experience working in a home-based or residential care environment preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic dietary management systems and software preferred
  • Advanced training in elder nutrition and therapeutic diets preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on team development and resident satisfaction preferred

Job Duties

  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive menu plans that meet the nutritional requirements and preferences of assisted living residents
  • Manage daily food service operations, ensuring compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and diet therapy regulations
  • Monitor and control food costs and inventory to maintain budgetary goals and financial accountability
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to tailor diet therapy plans for residents with specific medical or dietary needs
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate dietary staff to maintain high standards of service and operational efficiency
