Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience as a cook or in food preparation preferred
  • ability to follow recipes and dietary restrictions
  • compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies
  • physical ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
  • able to push or pull up to 50 pounds
  • ability to stand, sit, bend, and walk for long periods
  • capable of performing routine and repetitive tasks
  • comfortable working around food and cleaning chemicals
  • must complete an approved sanitation and safety course if required
  • current ServSafe or Food Handler certification as mandated
  • residency within the service area

Job Qualifications

  • maintain a positive attitude and effectively communicate with building occupants, administration, and HCSG leadership
  • compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies
  • able to lift and carry a maximum of 50 pounds
  • able to push and pull a maximum of 50 pounds
  • able to stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods
  • able to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously
  • able to work around food and cleaning products
  • may be required to complete an approved sanitation and safety course
  • current ServSafe or Food Handler certification required based on state or county law
  • residency within the service area required

Job Duties

  • prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and recipes
  • ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet HCSG standards
  • adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • maintain a clean and orderly kitchen
  • assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies
  • interact positively with residents, staff, and guests, providing excellent customer service
  • perform all other duties as assigned
