Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to read and write
  • One to two years experience as cook in a large scale cooking operation preferred
  • Must be able to work weekends
  • Must pass Florida AHCA Clearinghouse background screening
  • Experience in healthcare facility cooking preferred

  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve nourishing and attractive meals according to menu and diet orders
  • Follow standardized recipes ensuring food quality and minimizing waste
  • Use kitchen utensils and equipment such as blender, mixer, fryer, slicer, steamer, food processor, convection oven, stove, steam table, and tilt skillet
  • Wash, peel, cut, and shred vegetables and fruits for preparation
  • Taste and observe food for palatability
  • Slice portions of meat for individual servings
  • Add gravies, sauces, and garnishes as required
  • Assist with special function meals
  • Complete work assignments
  • Maintain food safety during meal service
