Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to read and write
  • one to two years of cooking experience preferred
  • must be able to work weekend double shifts
  • knowledge of federal, state, and local food safety regulations
  • physical ability to perform kitchen duties
  • strong communication skills
  • reliable and punctual

Job Qualifications

  • ability to read and write
  • one to two years experience as a cook in a large scale cooking operation preferred
  • knowledge of food safety standards
  • ability to operate various kitchen equipment
  • strong attention to detail in food preparation
  • good organizational and time management skills
  • ability to work weekend double shifts

Job Duties

  • prepare and serve nourishing meals according to menu and diet orders
  • review menus, production and prep guides to determine food quantities
  • prepare meal items using standardized recipes to ensure quality and minimize waste
  • operate kitchen equipment such as blenders, mixers, fryers, slicers, steamers, food processors, ovens, steam tables and tilt skillets
  • wash, peel, cut, and shred vegetables and fruits
  • test and taste food for quality and palatability
  • slice meat portions for individual servings
  • follow recipes accurately
  • add gravies, sauces, and garnishes as required
  • assist with special function meal preparations
  • complete assigned work tasks
  • maintain food safety and sanitation standards
